60 years "Sound of music"

Exactly 60 years ago, the musical film The Sound of Music premiered, attracting millions of fans to Salzburg ever since. Visitors come to trace the footsteps of the von Trapp family at the original filming locations. To mark the anniversary, the offerings are being expanded.

Celebrating the Anniversary in Salzburg

To mark this special anniversary, Salzburg offers visitors a variety of ways to explore the musical’s legacy. Revel in the charm of the Salzburg Marionette Theatre, embark on an unforgettable guided tour through the city’s historic streets by foot or bicycle, or try your hand at baking an authentic apple strudel – just as Fraulein Maria might have done herself.
